Every so often, popular culture produces a jewel. The King’s Speech, a movie about King George VI and his speech impediment, is indeed a rare find in modern movies. It inspires greatness and touches hearts while masterfully using the cinematic medium to portray history with impressive accuracy.
In the long list of great speeches given, we in the United States tend to overlook the speech King George VI gave as his country, Great Britain, marched into war against formidable Nazi Germany. The king delivered this speech to the British people in a time of confusion, turmoil, and need.
