Not the Right Kind of Immigrant

If all you knew about Obama’s immigration policy was learned from his abysmal track record at border security and his speeches in praise of lawlessness you might think that he is in favor of cutting the red tape that keeps good people out of this country. You would be wrong. Yes, he likes illegal immigration. No, he will not empower our Border Patrol forces to better enforce the law. Yes, he thinks breaking our immigration laws is a fine way to start your citizenship.

However, you need to be the right kind of immigrant. You need to vote Democratic and be the right race to be exploited for cheap political points. The Romeike family does not fit this pattern and thereby exposes the hypocrisy, blind ideology, and self-serving nature of Obama’s immigration policy.

If you have not yet heard the story of this brave family, please check it out. They sought asylum for their practice of homeschooling from the Holder Justice Department only to be denied due to the Obama administrations anti-homeschool views. The desire of a family to provide religious, moral, and intellectual education to their children through homeschooling did not seem worthy of consideration for Eric Holder. Only after a reversal by the DHS did this family finally receive the assurance that they would not be deported back to Germany. The utter callousness of the Holder Justice Department is reflective of the left’s immigration exploitation scheme.

If only the Romeike’s came illegally, didn’t speak English, voted Democratic, and depended on the government for education, they surely would have been welcomed. The left manufactures serfs which are only valuable as political cudgels or dependable voting bases. The Romeike’s are neither, and thus have no hope of receiving basic decency and respectful treatment from the left. It is a sad state of affairs when people openly fleeing persecution get less sympathy from our government than lawbreakers.
